Question:  What is the priesthood of all believers?

Answer:

When one receives the sacrament of Baptism, we become a member of Christ and co-heir with Him. That means all those baptized become living stones to be built into a spiritual house, to be a royal priesthood. By Baptism we share in the priesthood of Jesus Christ. The Catholic Catechism teaches that Baptism gives us a share in the common priesthood of all believers (see CCC#1268). That is what is meant by the priesthood of all believers. Thanks
