Topic: Is Julian of Norwich a saint?

Question:   I was wondering what the status of Julian of Norwich is in the church, since I noticed that she was cited in the official catechism on the Vatican webpage. Specifically she is quoted on nuber 313 under the part about The Creator. Is she a saint or is she considered blessed. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your question. Since I could not find Julian of Norwich in Butler's Lives of the Saints, I don't think she has been declared a "saint", although she has been declared "blessed", the first official step towards being declared a "saint". Hope that helps. Mary Pat.
