Question:  My sister and I were trying to understand how the Virgin Mary conceived. Did Jesus have any of Mary's genes? Did God implant a fertilized egg in her? Life gets more complicated every day.

Answer: 

Thank you for your question. The Virgin Mary conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has two natures - a human one and a divine one. It is one of the great mysteries of our Catholic Christian faith.

We have no way of knowing what Jesus' DNA looked like. But, it is interesting to ponder, indeed.
