Question: Can a Catholic be married outside?

Answer:

Thank you for your question! Do you mean outside as in outdoors? If you mean outdoors, permision of the local Bishop is required. The Catholic Church prefers couples to marry in a sacred space - not necessarily a Catholic Church. However, there are extenuating circumstances, such as when a Christian and non-Christian wed. It might be uncomfortable for the non-Christian person and their family to be present in a Catholic Church.

Hope this helps!
