Question: Why
are Quiji Boards against the Roman Catholic religion? THANK YOU
Answer:
Thanks, Carly,
for your question.
The Catholic Church does not encourage to place our faith in anything but Jesus
Christ as Lord, Savior, Friend, Brother, and God. Relying on anything -- like
a Ouji Board -- or anybody -- like a psychic -- apart from Jesus is going to
be contrary to the Church's call for us to become ever more dependent upon Jesus.
The Hebrew Bible or Old Testament has two rather famous prohibitions against
using "mediums". Check out Deuteronomy 18:10-12 and 1 Samuel 28:13-20.
The Biblical point-of-view is rather straightforward, especially in the passage
from Deuteronomy.
And finally, from a 'spiritual' perspective, I would simply say that we ought
never to give the enemy of our human nature, as Saint Ignatius of Loyola calls
the counter-spirit, or those powers which cooperate with him, any way whatsoever
to enter our lives. God protect us all!
God bless you!
