Question: Please explain Ordinary Time to me? Thanks much.
Answer:
Gerry,
The word "ordinary" in ordinary time is derived from the word "ordinal,"
which means counted. Thus, we have the first week of ordinary time through the
thirty-fourth week of ordinary time. It can also be thought of as basically
the parts of the Church year when we are not in the advent, christmas, Lent,
or Easter seasons. The color of ordinary time is green, which signifies life
and growth.
Have an extra-ordinary day!
