Question:  What is the Catholic Churches thinking on Ghosts? Do ghosts exist? In what context?

Ghosts exists only in tv, movies, books, and the like, and in stories people tell around a campfire. Actual belief in ghosts would be contrary to our faith. I could not find the word "ghosts" in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, but it does say that attempts of "conjuring up the dead" is to be avoided.
