Question:   I've read your answer to someone's question who asked what happens to a child's soul who dies before baptism etc. I thought the Catholic Church teaches that they go to limbo??  Thanks Great Site!  God Bless!

Dear Nick,

Please take a look at the FAQ library under the topic of "After Death." Fr. Ruffo answered this question you might be referring to. A very long time ago the Catholic Church did teach that the unbaptized went to Limbo which according to the Church was a nice enough place, but these souls would never experience the kingdom of heaven. Thankfully, that teaching no longer exists. Fr. Ruffo's answer is right on target.
